1. How long have you been boxing for?
My father & grandfather both boxed & I learned basics when I was younger, but actually training-training; a couple years.
2. How'd you get into it?
I got certified 5 years ago as a personal trainer & used boxing drills for myself & clients; because it’s just a great workout. I began combining kickboxing into my hiphop classes. When I started @ Micky Ward’s gym & The Lowell West End...I was convinced to step in the ring to spar. I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought.
3. What was it like being part of the movie; 'The Fighter'?
Being an extra for movies is always fun & the set was enjoyable...but since I work at Micky Ward's place & know him personally it’s great to see a major film being produced about his story & victories. Someone local; who deserves it & more importantly; out of our gym. It was cool to see the fight scenes choreographed in our ring...& nearby locations used. Mark Wahlberg's playing Micky & is really nice & down to earth. Along w/his trainers, the director & rest of the cast. A lot of friends, family, & locals were used for the movie. We’re all excited to see the final production.
4. Who is your favorite boxer of all time?
Pastime: Muhammad Ali. Currently: EBA Super MiddleWeight Champion Joe McCreedy
5. What do you think of Boxing vs. MMA?
The controversy of the 2 are repeatedly discussed, but I don’t think there should be a rivalry. They both stage big events & do well. Although forms of fighting; different sports. Boxing: more the ‘sweet science’ & involving a lot more history, differs from MMA: which is more of a street fight. I respect the toughness needed for MMA; however boxing deals more with practicing defense. Accuracy, speed, & especially stamina / endurance come into play. Age demographics differ a little due to a longer timeline of Boxing. Pro boxing fights; consisting of 10-12 three minute rounds is different than 3-5 rounds of five minute durations. Especially when a majority of it is on the ground. Boxers also use 8-10 oz gloves; where MMA uses 4-6 oz gloves. How would a boxer’s punch feel with a glove that small? MMA fighters can’t take away from the credits of Ali, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Jones, Tyson, Gatti, Ward, or Holyfield. Boxers also have more amateur experience before going pro than MMA fighters. In reality, very few MMA fighters would be successful boxing (boxing rules) & very few boxers would prob be successful in MMA (mma rules). (Without serious cross training for either). There are so many variables. 2 different sports. Apples & oranges.
6. What's your biggest turn on in guys?
By far; sense of humor...then hard worker. But yes, Oddly enough- goofyness & Sarcasm – because I am a very sarcastic & weird girl. Keep me on my toes & make me laugh. Nothing like solid hands & a good smile either J
7. What's your favorite part of your body?
I would say my teeth / smile... but others tend to say my calve muscles or bubble butt.
8. If you could have any body part from any celebrity who would you take?
Toss up between Adriana Lima’s eyes and Angelina Jolie’s lips.
9. If you could have dinner with anybody famous who would it be?
Jack Handy. Feel free to google his quotes. SNL. He’s a Riot. Well, at least I think so. Haha.
10. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you'd buy?
Bring all my family & closest friends on a tropical vacation w/ me, possibly build my own gym; Then would come the lime green Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 JPossibly a pet monkey.
